I write, record, produce & occasionally perform music under the alias Shrinking Violet, a project that modulates between ambient, dreampop & indie rock in an effort to create music about memory, distance & uncertainty.

Experiences In A Changing City
Athens, GR
An Inquiry Into 10 Neighborhoods
Experiences in a Changing City: an Inquiry into Ten Neighborhoods of Greater Athens is my debut album which captures two years of urban explorations in Athens. After long discussions with dozens of Athenians from ten distinct neighborhoods,

I collected impressions from each place, took photographs, & composed a piece of music inspired by each experience. The result of this inquiry was a full-length album, with each song corresponding to a different place, distinct in mood & instrumentation, with lyrics based on [or in moments entirely lifted from] the conversational interviews I conducted & the time I spent in each place.

The album was packaged as a CD & book, which gathered accounts from the ten neighborhoods that were examined & paired them with corresponding drawings. At the launch of this album, over €2000 was raised in support of a local children’s charity.
